Accès à l’eau potable : La pénurie s’accentue
Les problèmes d’approvisionnement en eau potable ne cessent d’être grandissants dans la ville de Yaoundé malgré le financement de l’Etat du Cameroun qui s’élève à 4 milliards de FCFA.
Les quartiers tels que Nsam, Efoulan et Dakar pour ne citer que ceux-là ont encore été frappés par les coupures d’eau depuis quelques semaines déjà. Les plaintes se font grandissantes chaque jour par les populations de la ville de Yaoundé qui ne savent plus à quel saint se vouer. Selon Fani Messina « Je pense que c’est le problème de la Camwater. Ils doivent résoudre ce problème. Je les attends avec la facture, on va se dire les vérités ». Pour Victoria Zipikeng « Nous sommes déjà habitué. Dans certain quartier, on n’a jamais connu l’eau. Les robinets c’est pour décorer ».
« On en a marre des coupures d’eau. On a d’abord fait un mois sans eau la dernière fois et puis c’est revenu croyant qu’on a résolu le problème, et voilà qu’on se retrouve encore en train de faire plus d’une semaine sans eau. Nous nous retrouvons chaque mois à payer les factures d’eau qu’on ne consomme pas. Il faut que l’Etat revoit ce problème parce qu’on est fatigué des coupures d’eau à tout moment » a déclaré une maman qui a voulu garder l’animât. « Il y a des jours ou l’eau vient très sale ; la dernière fois on nous a expliqué dans certains journaux que ce sont les tuyaux qui conduisent l’eau qui rendent ça sale. Si l’Etat sait déjà que ce sont les tuyaux, pourquoi ne pas remédier à ce problème ? On se demande à un moment donné ‘’quel est réellement le rôle de la Camwater ?’’ ». a-t-elle ajouté.
Pour Nelly Ekani « c’est juste scandaleux dans un pays où on se vante d’avoir la fibre optique, on a une eau infecté et même pas alimenté de façon régulière dans certains quartiers ».
Selon le Journal Investir au Cameroun, Camwater qui est une entreprise publique en charge de la production et la distribution de l’eau potable au Cameroun, « les manques épisodiques observés à Yaoundé sont liés pour l’essentiel, aux nombreux dysfonctionnements de la station d’Akomnyada qui alimente la ville de Yaoundé ».
