Coopération sino-africaine : 45 experts chinois soutiennent le secteur agricole du Burundi
Une quarantaine d’experts agricoles chinois a pris part à une séance de travail au Burundi afin de développer le secteur agricole de ce pays. L’assistant du ministre de l’Environnement, de l’Agriculture et de l’Elevage a exprimé son satisfecit lors d’une cérémonie d’adieu qui s’est tenue à l’ambassade de Chine au Burundi.
« C’est une grande occasion pour le gouvernement burundais d’exprimer son appréciation et sa satisfaction vis-à-vis des réalisations de l’équipe d’experts agricoles chinois au Burundi » a déclaré Emmanuel Ndorimana, assistant du ministre de l’Environnement, de l’Agriculture et de l’Elevage, lors d’une cérémonie d’adieu pour la cinquième équipe d’experts agricoles chinois tenue à l’ambassade de Chine au Burundi. Selon Emmanuel Ndorimana, dans le cadre du Forum sur la coopération sino-africaine (FCSA), cinq équipes d’experts agricoles chinois ont été envoyées au Burundi pour soutenir le secteur agricole du pays d’Afrique de l’Est.
Au total, 45 experts ont été envoyés au Burundi en cinq phases, a-t-il précisé, ajoutant qu’ils étaient spécialisés en riziculture, pédologie et fertilisation, transformation agro-alimentaire, arboriculture fruitière, élevage et pisciculture. Il a indiqué que l’engagement des experts chinois dans l’essai et la démonstration de nouvelles variétés et de nouvelles technologies, ainsi que la formation du personnel, le développement industriel, la planification et la mise en œuvre de grands projets, avaient été appréciés par les agriculteurs et les autres partenaires locaux. Dans le secteur du riz, Emmanuel Ndorimana a souligné que l’équipe d’experts avait sélectionné avec succès le riz hybride adapté au Burundi, avec un record de production d’environ douze tonnes par hectare.
« L’agriculture, dont la coopération remonte à 1984, est le secteur privilégié et pionnier dans le cadre de la coopération pragmatique sino-burundaise qui nous a apporté des fruits abondants », a déclaré l’ambassadrice de Chine au Burundi, Zhao Jiangping. Elle précise que l’équipe d’experts agricoles chinois basée dans le district de Gihanga, dans la province de Bubanza, dans l’ouest du Burundi, avait connu un énorme succès malgré les difficultés liées à la pandémie de COVID-19. « Je profite de cette occasion pour féliciter les experts agricoles chinois dirigés par Yang Huade. Très laborieux, responsables et animés par la coopération sino-burundaise, ils ont apporté une contribution importante à la coopération agricole entre nos deux pays. La coopération entre la Chine et le Burundi resterait permanente » a-t-elle ajouté.
