Le ministère de l’Environnement du Gabon, l’Agence des parcs nationaux (ANPN) et l’ONG internationale WildAid ont lancé la campagne “Merveilles du Gabon”, qui met en avant la beauté des paysages et de la faune de notre pays.
La campagne “Merveilles du Gabon” a pour objectif de promouvoir le Gabon en tant que nouvelle destination écotouristique de premier plan en Afrique, à travers des vidéos de courtes durées diffusées à l’aéroport international Léon Mba de Libreville et relayées sur les médias sociaux à travers le monde.
“Le Gabon est un pays unique dont le patrimoine naturel est remarquablement préservé ; avec de nombreux écosystèmes variés et biodiversifiés”, a déclaré le ministre gabonais de l’Environnement, Lee White. “C’est le seul endroit au monde où l’on peut observer des gorilles, des hippopotames surfant sur les vagues, des éléphants se promenant sur la plage et des baleines le même jour”, a ajouté le professeur Lee White. “Ce riche trésor naturel sera bientôt révélé au monde comme une nouvelle destination écotouristique.”
Le Gabon dispose de 13 parcs nationaux (dont deux sites inscrits sur la liste du patrimoine mondial de l’Unesco) qui représentent 11% du territoire national. Aujourd’hui, 21 % des écosystèmes terrestres du Gabon sont protégés et nos parcs nationaux sont parmi les plus riches d’Afrique. Le Gabon compte également 9 parcs marins et 11 réserves aquatiques, couvrant 27 % de l’espace marin. Cette biodiversité remarquable fait partie de la fierté de la nation, de l’histoire et de la culture de notre peuple.
