Journée internationale de la femme : L’association Give a smile sensibilise les femmes
En prélude à la journée internationale de la femme qui a eu lieu le 8 mars dernier, l’association Give a smile a réuni le forum des femmes d’Afrique pour le développement et la paix afin de discuter et d’encourager les mères et filles à continuer de contribuer activement au développement du Cameroun.
C’était un moment de détente, de relaxation et de confession pour les femmes ce jour dans les locaux de l’association Give a smile à Jouvence. Plusieurs femmes ont partagé leur expérience tant dans le foyer conjugal que dans le domaine professionnel. « Quand je me mariais, mon époux ne faisait rien. C’est grâce au métier que j’exerce, qu’on mangeait à la maison et que je m’occupais de mes deux petites sœurs. » a déclaré Jessica, couturière âgée d’une trentaine d’année.
En effet, l’association ‘’Give a smile’’ a profité de la journée internationale des droits de la femme édition 2023, pour réunir une dizaine de jeunes mères du quartier Jouvence à Yaoundé, la capitale camerounaise, afin de discuter de l’autonomisation de la femme. « Il est question pour nous d’attirer leur attention sur leur importance dans la société, mais aussi d’évoquer l’éducation sensible de la jeune fille », explique Georgette Medjiadeu épouse Tchokoualieu, présidente de Give a smile. « Je vous encourage, aller de l’avant. Dites-vous que ce que vous faites doit parler de vous et faire avancer la société. Pour cela, nous devons agir collectivement, c’est-à-dire qu’il faut savoir valoriser ce que l’autre sait faire. Ensemble nous pouvons aller loin. Les femmes sont capables de soulever ce monde » a-t-elle ajouté
Selon Tatiana, entrepreneure et mère de 4 enfants, cette contribution active de la femme à l’évolution du monde, est parsemée d’embuches et d’obstacles. « Parfois les hommes sont un frein au développement de la femme. Les parents aussi, parce qu’ils s’opposent très souvent au talent de la fille » affirme-t-elle.
Rappelons que l’éducation de la future maman est loin d’être facile, Rachelle, coiffeuse et propriétaire d’une parfumerie dans la capitale politique, s’associe aux autres femmes présentes à cette causerie éducative, pour soutenir qu’au-delà de l’aspect pécuniaire, le travail éloigne de la femme, le stress et le vice, pour lui procurer l’épanouissement. C’est pourquoi, l’association ‘’Give a smile’’ prône fortement l’autonomisation économique des femmes au Cameroun, en attendant la mise en place d’un environnement juridique et social, favorable à l’égalité entre l’homme et la femme.
