Environnement : Vers une économie circulaire plus durable
Dans l’optique de promouvoir l’économie circulaire au Cameroun, le Ministère de l’environnement, de la protection de la nature et du développement durable a organisé une réunion d’échange sur la mise en place d’une bourse nationale des déchets le 11 juin 2023 à Yaoundé.
Cette initiative a pour but de donner aux citoyens camerounais un environnement sain. Parmi les objectifs fixés par le Dsce et la vision à l’horizon 2035 en vue de booster la croissance économique, dans le développement durable figure en bonne place la mise au point des méthodes de production économique viable et respectueuse de l’environnement induisant l’exploitation durable des richesses naturelles dont dépend la survie de l’humanité. « L’assainissement constitue un des défis majeurs susceptibles d’engendrer des conséquences désastreuses sur la santé humaine, les milieux naturels et les établissements humains. C’est pourquoi la gestion durable des déchets constitue un enjeu majeur pour les politiques publiques dans notre contexte où 6 millions de tonnes de déchets sont actuellement produit. Ayant été pendant longtemps perçus uniquement comme une nuisance et une contrainte, les déchets ont progressivement pris de la valeur au point de susciter la convoitise et de faire l’objet des transactions », a déclaré Hele Pierre, Ministre de l’environnement, de la protection de la nature et du développement durable lors de son discours.
Notons que la bourse nationale des déchets est ouverte à la fois aux générateurs de déchets et aux structures et organisations qui récupèrent, transforment et valorisent des déchets. Parmi ces utilisateurs figurent les industriels, les commerçants et artisans, les collectivités territoriales décentralisée, les administrations, les collecteurs et récupérateurs installés ainsi que les entreprises agréées de valorisation des déchets. Cette initiative permettra de dégager de nombreux bénéfices écologiques et économiques au Cameroun.
Niche d’emplois
Etant donné que les déchets des uns constituent la matière première des autres, ils peuvent donner lieu à une valeur ajoutée et constituer une nouvelle niche d’emplois et de richesse. « Plusieurs filière de pré-collecte, de collecte et de valorisation ont été mises en place prioritairement pour les déchets issus des métaux ferreux et non ferreux, les batteries usagées, les huiles usagées, les déchets plastiques, les papiers cartons, la sciure, les drèches et levures et pour les déchets d’équipements électriques » affirme Hele Pierre.
